Michael E. Looram

Michael E. Looram, P.E., is a Consulting Engineer specializing in analysis and assembly of bolted joints. Mr. Looram has twenty-three years of varied industrial experience in analysis, design and maintenance. His projects include nuclear and fossil power plants, petrochemical plants, automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, and structural applications. He has authored reports, papers and instructional manuals on analysis and assembly of bolted joints. His work experience incudes:

Raymond Engineering Inc. consulting on bolted joints and using ultrasonic techniques to measure preload

E.I. Dupont performing finite element analysis and photoelastic stress analysis on centrifuge rotors

TRW Systems and U.S. Air Force as maintenance engineer on the Minuteman Weapon system.

Mr. Looram received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University, a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of New Haven. Mr. Looram also received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of New Haven. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the States of Connecticut, California, and New Jersey. He is a member of the ASME.

 

Jesse R. Meisterling

Jesse R. Meisterling is a consultant specializing in the assembly of bolted joints. He has eighteen years of experience devoted to the design, testing and qualification of advanced tooling and measuring equipment. His specialty is ultrasonic devices for determining load in threaded fasteners. He has developed automated tightening and measuring systems for use by the Automotive, Aerospace, Power and Petrochemical industries.

He holds four U.S. patents for ultrasonic instrumentation.

Previous work experience includes

Looram Engineering: associate lecturer in bolted joint training seminars, consulting on bolted joint projects to various industries.

Ultrafast Inc. Engineering Manager developed ultrasonic load measurement products for high and low volume assembly applications. Managed customer application engineering and technical support

Raymond Engineering Inc., Chief Engineer, Electronic Products

Managed electronic product engineering and support group, developed ultrasonic bolt load measuring equipment, developed hardware and software for special tightening applications for: NASA, Japan Steel, U.S. Steel, P&WA, GM, Cummins.

Mr. Meisterling received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Connecticut, and a Master of Science, Metallurgical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
